Mrs. Rosso
8th Grade Science
Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts

“Exploration is what you do when you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s what scientists do every day. If a scientist already knew what they were doing, they wouldn’t be discovering anything, because they already knew what they were doing.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson

My Perspective

What is Science?

From a very early age, I asked questions about the world around me.  I have always been a lover of nature, humanity, and explorer of the world.  Science is the quest and search for answers, of many kinds.  In science we are able to ask questions, research, test ideas, and discover new questions that can lead us into places we never thought possible.  This is why, science, is my favorite subject to teach.  From the teaching perspective, I am able to utilize all my skills as a teacher to include concepts of not just science, but math, history,  English/Language Arts, Art and communication.  I hope to inspire, in your student, a desire to ask questions, think critically, argue their perspective with evidence, and see the wonders of the world around them.  Through science we can discover answers to questions we have yet thought to ask.
